ä Mercer 3, Greenville 1 — At Greenville, Rigel posted 14 digs, 13 points and 10 assists as the Lady M’s earned a 25-17, 15-25, 25-18, 26-24 win.
Mohney added 13 points, seven digs and five assists; Hillmar chipped in 11 digs and 10 serving points; Messett (27), McCreary (13), Moose (eight) and Gennifer Branden (five) combined for 53 points; Bobbie McGhee copped six digs; and Province secured five kills.
ä Grove City 3, Sharpsville 0 — At Grove City, the Lady Eagles (13-1, 15-1) secured a first place tie with Hickory by sweeping the Blue Darlings (11-8).
Brehaney led the way with 15 points, eight digs and six kills; Ennis chipped in 23 assists, eight points and six digs; Rothman tallied nine kills, seven blocks and five digs; McNamara secured nine kills and seven digs; Franklin scored 16 points (five aces); Aloisio registered 11 digs; and Carly Forese passed out seven assists.
ä Sharon 3, Mercer 3 (2 OT) — At Tiger Stadium, Mercer outshot the Tigers 29-12, but could only muster the tie.
Rich Ligo, Mike Sherman — assisted by Zach Juergens — and Trevor Kelly garnered goals for the Mustangs.
Joel Pyle posted six saves in goal for Mercer.
ä Slippery Rock 3, Hickory 0 — At Slippery Rock, the Rockets (14-0-1, 17-1-1) capped the regular season by shutting out the Hornets (9-4-2, 11-5-2).
Mike Ramirez scored a pair of goals for Slippery Rock, while Dan Jeon added the other goal. Goalie Abir Chatterjee registered 3 saves in posting the shutout.
ä Grove City 3, Wilmington 1 — Under the lights in New Wilmington, the playoff bound Eagles (13-5-1) posted three straight unanswered goals to post the Region 1AA victory.
Shaun Barr led the way with two goals, while Jordan Nichols scored off a rebound after a penalty kick.
Matt Kaiser assisted on one of Barr’s goals. Justin Gildersleeve registered four saves in goal for GC.
ä Mercer 6, Sharpsville 1 — At Lamor Road Field, the Mustangs (8-7-4) prepped for the playoffs by sending 53 shots towards the Sharpsville goal.
Guido Moncayo, Sherman, David Baver, Adam Braymaker, Chris Buxton and Matt Dietrich each posted goals, while Caleb Learned, Buxton and Pyle were credited with assists. Pyle had two saves.
