The final count is in: The National Letter Carriers Food Drive, “Stamp Out Hunger” on May 11 brought in a grand total of 17,574 pounds of food items from across all of Mercer County! The monetary value of this food is $28,294.14.

Thank you to those who donated canned goods and to the National Association of Letter Carriers for coordinating this annual event. You have supplied us with much needed quality food items that will in turn be distributed to those in need.

A very special thank you to our local postmasters and letter carriers who actually carry/transport all the donated canned goods. We appreciate your commitment to this event, which allows our food pantries and all our agencies to stretch their food dollars and meet the need for supplemental food assistance in Mercer County.

We are so very grateful for all of you who support our efforts to eliminate hunger in our communities.
