In honor of the 75th anniversary of V-J Day, the Pennsylvania Cable Network is airing a marathon of "Voices of Veterans," which includes two local residents.
The PCN program will air from Aug. 31 to Sept. 6, according to a news release from PCN.
On Sept. 2, the programming will focus on World War II veterans. Dick Bailey of Grove City will be featured at 11:30 a.m., and Don Bee of Greenville at 1 p.m.
Bailey was a sergeant in the Army Air Forces. Bee served with the Navy as an aviation boatswain mate third class.
Sept. 2 is Victory over Japan Day, or V-J Day, which marks the signing of the declaration officially ending World War II.
On Aug. 14, 1945, Japan announced its surrender to the Allies.
PCN started interviewing World War II veterans in 2002. The program expanded in 2011 to include those who served in all conflicts through Afghanistan and Iraq.
