WOLF CREEK TOWNSHIP – Two Oklahoma City men remain in jail on charges they were transporting $600,000 worth of drugs when stopped in Interstate 80.
Arturo Gutierrez, 23, and Julian Espanosa-Garcia, 19, were charged Feb. 3 by state police with manufacture, delivery or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver, possession of a controlled substance, use/possession of drug paraphernalia and carrying a firearm without a license.
All charges were held to Mercer County Common Pleas Court during preliminary hearings Feb. 23 with District Judge Douglas E. Straub, Pine Township.
Both were returned to Mercer County Jail after failing to post bond. Their common pleas arraignments are set for 9 a.m. April 26 before Judge Tedd C. Nesbit.
Two Oklahoma City men were arrested after police found $600,000 worth of drugs in their vehicle following a traffic stop on Interstate 80.
Police stopped their vehicle for a violation at 1:44 p.m. Feb. 2 on Interstate 80 eastbound at mile 22 in Wolf Creek Township.
A search of the vehicle yielded 8.8 pounds, or 4 kilograms, of suspected heroin and fentanyl, police said, adding that the street value was estimated at $600,000.
A firearm was also recovered.
