PITTSBURGH — A federal judge sentenced a New Castle man to 15 years in prison after his conviction on sex trafficking charges stemming from his attempt to take a teenage girl from Grove City to Ohio for prostitution.

Ronald Kyle Hartman, 28, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Mark R. Hornak to 15 years in federal prison, followed by seven years supervised release, in a sentence announced Thursday by Acting U.S. Attorney Soo C. Song.

The court reported that Hartman, in August 2016, transported a 14-year-old girl from Grove City to Ohio for sex trafficking. Song's office said that Hartman had advertised the girl's prostitution work on backpage.com

Assistant U.S. Attorney Jessica Lieber Smolar prosecuted the case. Grove City police and the FBI cooperated on the investigation.
