• A dark gray vehicle heading north in the 500 block of State Street at 1 a.m. March 9 left the road and hit a Tri-County garbage can and a traffic sign. The vehicle would likely have damage to the right front bumper or fender area.
Several vehicle pieces including an inner fender liner, front lower fender, and broken lenses were found at that location. Anyone with information about the hit-and-run accident is asked to call police at 724-458-7925.
State police, Mercer
• DeAngelo Davon Wilkins, 29, of Akron, was charged with resisting arrest and possession of a small amount of marijuana after an incident at 1:30 a.m. March 14 in Springfield Township, police said.
Police received a call from an Uber driver, who was parked at Sheetz, 1931 Butler Pike. The driver was taking Wilkins from Akron to Butler, and that Wilkins had asked for permission to smoke in the vehicle.
Wilkins then lit a joint containing marijuana, and the driver told him that he could not smoke an illegal substa nce in the vehicle.
When police arrived at Sheetz, Wilkins tried to flush the drugs down the toilet, and he would not follow their commands, police said.
• Police are investigating a report that a Lakeview High School student was under the influence of an illegal substance at 8:54 a.m. March 12 at the school, 2482 Mercer St., Sandy Lake Township. Police said they found marijuana and drug paraphernalia in the student’s vehicle.
• Someone broke two windows on a Caldwell, Ohio, woman’s pickup truck, which was left unattended along the shoulder of Interstate 80 westbound, Wolf Creek Township, between 1:30 and 7:59 a.m. March 14, police said.
