Grove City

• Police are investigating a hit-and-run accident that happened at 2:02 p.m. June 23, when a boy riding his bicycle was hit by a red sedan.

The vehicle was last seen heading north on Edgewood Avenue. Police did not say if the boy was hurt. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-458-7925.

State police, Mercer

• Triston Galarza, 21, of Slippery Rock, was charged with strangulation, making terroristic threats, and related offenses after an incident at 6:06 a.m. June 18 in the area of Airport Road and Liberty Street, Pine Township, police said.

Galarza was allegedly involved in a physical altercation with a 21-year-old Pittsburgh woman, police said.

• Richard Kephart, 68, of Sharon, was charged with indecent assault for allegedly sexually abusing a 20-year-old Sharpsville woman over an 11-year period, police said.

The woman was between the ages of 5 and 16 when he reportedly assaulted her; online court records indicate that the incidents happened in South Pymatuning Township.

He remains in Mercer County Jail and was also charged with aggravated indecent assault of a child, unlawful contact with a minor, corruption of minors, and endangering the welfare of a child, police said.

• Four people from New Kensington are facing charges after a traffic stop at 5 p.m. May 11 on Interstate 79 southbound, Findley Township, police said.

The driver, Gregory J. Jackson, 24, was stopped for speeding. Police said they noticed a smell of marijuana, which led to a probable cause search of the vehicle.

Police found two loaded handguns, five bricks of heroin, two bags of suspected heroin, crystal methamphetamine, and a small amount of marijuana. A passenger, James Miller Johnson III, 30, was found to have a bag of ecstasy pills, police said.

Jackson was charged with possession of a prohibited firearm, possession of a controlled substance, manufacture, delivery or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver, carrying a firearm without a license, possession of marijuana, use/possession of drug paraphernalia, driving with a suspended or revoked license, speeding, conspiring to manufacture, delivery or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver, and conspiring to possess a controlled substance.

Johnson was charged with possession of prohibited firearm, carrying a firearm without a license, possession of a small amount of marijuana, use/possession of drug paraphernalia, four counts of possession of a controlled substance, and two counts of manufacture, delivery or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver.

Passenger Tameka Jemeria Germaine Petty, 21, was charged with conspiring to possess a controlled substance, possession of a small amount of marijuana, use/possession of drug paraphernalia, carrying a firearm without a license, and two counts each of manufacture, delivery or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver and possession of a controlled substance.

Passenger Jasmine Marie Rana, 24, was charged with manufacture, delivery or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver, conspiring to manufacture, delivery or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver, carrying a firearm without a license, possession of marijuana, use/possession of drug paraphernalia, and four counts of possession of a controlled substance.

• Christopher Gardner, 35, of Mercer; at 1:48 a.m. April 27 on South Erie Street at South Diamond Street, Mercer, police said.
