JACKSON TOWNSHIP — An Allegheny County man was killed last week in a car accident on Interstate 79.

Paul J. Molloy, 51, of Oakmont, Pa., was northbound in the left lane of I-79 when state police said he lost control of his Toyota Venza on a wet roadway in and traveled off the right side of the road.

The car traveled about 150 feet in the grass before it hit some trees and came to rest. The accident happened at 6:43 a.m. Sept. 1 at the 123 mile marker in Jackson Township, state police from the Mercer County state police barracks.

Molloy was pronounced dead at the scene.

Jackson Center Fire Department, Superior Ambulance, PennDOT and Minner’s Towing assisted state police.
