Police looking for 2 escapees from George Jr.

PINE TOWNSHIP – Police are looking for two teens who escaped from George Junior Republic in Pine Township.

The boys, ages 15 and 16, fled from the facility for at-risk male youth at 3:45 p.m. March 24, state police said.

The 15-year-old has brown hair and hazel eyes and was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt. The 16-year-old has black hair and brown eyes and was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt.

Anyone with information is asked to call state police at 724-662-6162.

UPDATE: George Junior has confirmed that the two teens returned to campus within 24 hours of escaping.

Man charged with sexual assault of 2 teens

NEW VERNON TOWNSHIP – A Mercer man has been accused of sexually assaulting two teenage girls in New Vernon Township during an eight-year period.

Austin Mathieson, 20, was charged with rape, statutory sexual assault, sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault and related charges, according to a news release issue by state police.

The victims are identified as a 16-year-old from Williamsport, Pa., and an 18-year-old from Wilmington, N.C.

Police said they received an incident report from the Pennsylvania ChildLine reporting system, which indicated that the alleged assaults happened between June 20, 2012, and July 31, 2020.

GC man arrested after incident inside ER

PINE TOWNSHIP – A Grove City man was arrested after he allegedly assaulted hospital security and local police in the emergency room.

Andrew Miller, 25, was receiving treatment at AHN Grove City, 631 N. Broad St. Ext., Pine Township, for controlled substance intoxication, state police said.

He became agitated and began tumultuous behavior and fought with security guards who tried to guide him back to his bed.

Grove City police were called to the hospital, and Miller fought with them as well, grabbing, hitting and shoving the patrolmen, police said.
