GROVE CITY – Grove City Community Library visitors will be partying Hollywood-style for the inaugural adult prom.

“We are going to have a red carpet out front,” said Heather Baker, director of children’s programming.

The event is for patrons ages 21 and up, and it will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the library, 125 W. Main St.

The theme is “Old Hollywood,” and guests are encouraged to wear outfits from any old Hollywood era, or just dress their best. Prizes will be awarded.

Baker hopes it will be a chance for folks to have a fun night out and enjoy socializing and dancing. Admission is free.

“We want to thank our patrons for everything they do for us,” she said.

There will be a DJ, and guests are asked to bring a snack to share. Drinks will be provided, and people are welcome to bring their own adult beverages.

Baker is excited to decorate the library, wear a fancy dress, and have a good time dancing with her friends, and perhaps relive some high school prom memories.

If the event goes well, she’ll plan on having it again next year at a larger venue if necessary.

“It’s just going to be a lot of fun,” she said, noting she might be making some special treats to share.

Reservations are encouraged but not required.
