Orangeville Baptist Church slates services

SHARPSVILLE – Services for Orangeville Baptist Church, 7600 Orangeville Road, Sharpsville, are Sunday school for all ages at 10 a.m. followed by worship at 11 a.m.

There is a Wednesday evening prayer and Bible study at 7 p.m.

The church is still collecting food for the food pantry. Also being collected are personal care items like soap, shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, laundry soap, paper towels, toilet paper, etc. 

Living Faith Christian sets service, class times

FARRELL – Worship service for Living Faith Christian Church, 829 New Castle Road, Farrell (in the plaza) is 11 a.m. Sunday.

A discipleship class is at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Pastors Cary, Chris and Lay Pastor Frank will also have a 9 a.m. Sunday service at Whispering Oaks, 260 S. Buhl Farm Drive, Hermitage.

Guest speaker to address King youth meeting

FARRELL – Pastor Bruce A. Richael and the congregation of Love Christian Center, 411 Hamilton Ave., Farrell, will have a special guest speaker for the annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Youth meeting on Jan. 20.

The service will begin at 6:30 p.m. The speaker will be Bishop Paul Pegues of Youngstown.

The theme for the service will be “Follow Jesus!”

Widow/widowers groupto meet Thursday

HERMITAGE – The Widow/Widowers group at Faith Presbyterian Church, 2370 N. Hermitage Road, Hermitage, meet at noon Thursday in the church fellowship hall. 

This is a pot luck luncheon, so everyone is asked to bring a favorite food dish to share. All widows and widowers are welcome.

Bethel Life to hostNight to Shine

GREENVILLE – For the fourth year Bethel Life will team up to host and co-sponsor another Night to Shine, along with more than 700 churches around the world.

The events will be held simultaneously on Feb. 8.

Night to Shine is a prom experience centered on God’s love for people with special needs ages 14 and older.

The guests will be welcomed at the church, 246 S. Mercer St., Greenville, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. for VIP treatment, including hair, nails and shoeshines.

Afterwards they will travel by limo to the Greenville Elementary School, 60 Fredonia Road, for food, fun and dancing.

The highlight of the night is when all guests are honored as they are crowned kings and queens of the prom.

Dresses and suits are available for 20 percent off at Twice Blessed Thrift Shop, Mercer.

Men’s attire is also available at Bethel Life.

MERCER – The Allegheny Boys Quartet will sing old-time gospel at 7 p.m. Saturday at Lebanon Presbyterian Church, 2090 Mercer-West Middlesex Road, Mercer.

Valley Baptist to host pastoral banquet

FARRELL – Valley Baptist Church, 500 Sharon-New Castle Road, Farrell, holds its sixth pastoral banquet in honor of Rev. T. James and Lady Tamara J. Harrison at 6 p.m. Jan. 25 at Tiffany’s Banquet Center, 601 Bedford Road SE, Brookfield.

Orthodox clergy to hold River Blessing 2019

SHARON – River Blessings 2019, served by the Orthodox Clergy Association of the Shenango Valley, begins at 1 p.m. Sunday in downtown Sharon (approximately at 97 Penn Ave.). Service will last 15 to 20 minutes. Parking on site.

Open house and refreshments follow the blessing at St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 389 Clark St., Sharon.
