Sharon First UM Church slates services

SHARON – Sharon First United Methodist Church, 237 W. Silver St., Sharon, offers these services: Sunday – 9 a.m. Worship, 9:30 a.m. breakfast, 10 a.m. Youth Church School, 10 a.m. Adult Church School and 11 a.m. Worship. Communion will be held this Sunday.

Other services offered are: Grief Support meets at 9 a.m. the third Monday of each month; Group Bible Study, 9:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. on Wednesdays with Pastor Doug; and Woman’s Bible Study, 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturdays with Cindy Shaffer.

Faith Presbyterian offers men’s Bible study

HERMITAGE – Faith Presbyterian Church, 2370 N. Hermitage Road, Hermitage, hosts Men’s Bible Study each Tuesday in February (Feb. 5, 12, 19, and 26) at 7 p.m. in the fellowship hall on the lower level of the building.

Widow/widowers group to meet Feb. 21

HERMITAGE – The Widow/Widowers group at Faith Presbyterian Church will meet at noon Feb. 21 in the church fellowship hall, 2370 N. Hermitage Road, Hermitage. 

This is a pot-luck luncheon so everyone is asked to bring a favorite food dish to share. 

All widows and widowers are welcome.

Recovery program to meet at Brass Lantern

TRANSFER – Free Indeed, a faith based recovery program, meets at 7 p.m. Feb. 12 at Brass Lantern restaurant, Route 18 in Transfer.

This is a weekly meeting for those in recovery. All are welcome.

Hickory UM slates new service times

HERMITAGE – Hickory United Methodist Church, 240 N. Hermitage Road, Hermitage, (next to the Shenango Valley Mall) announces new worship time: Sunday school is 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. and worship is at 10:30 a.m.

Peanut butter jars needed for mission project

HUBBARD – The little dresses for Haiti project sponsored by Corner House Christian Church is collecting 16-ounce jars of peanut butter in February.

The community is invited to drop off donations at the church, 6954 Chestnut Ridge Road (corner of Chestnut Ridge and Route 7) in Hubbard.

The collection will be delivered to Life Line Missions in Westerville and forwarded to the needy in Haiti. One jar or one case will help to fill the pickup truck.

Orangeville Baptist schedules services

SHARPSVILLE – Services for Orangeville Baptist Church, 7600 Orangeville Road, Sharpsville, are Sunday school for all ages at 10 a.m., followed by worship at 11 a.m.

There is a Wednesday evening prayer and Bible study at 7 p.m.

Living Faith Christian sets service times

FARRELL – Worship service for Living Faith Christian Church, 829 New Castle Road, Farrell (in the plaza) will be at 11 a.m. Sunday.

A discipleship class will be at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Pastors Cary, Chris and Lay Pastor Frank will also have a 9 a.m. Sunday service at Whispering Oaks, 260 S. Buhl Farm Drive, Hermitage.

First Assembly of God slates services

HERMITAGE – First Assembly of God, 1455 N. Keel Ridge Road, Hermitage, offers these services: Sundays – Morning worship services at 9 and 10:45 a.m.; Sunday School for all ages at 9 a.m.; Children’s Church at 10:45 a.m.; CONNECT Groups, 6 p.m., and Re:volution Student Ministries, 6 p.m.

Women’s ministry schedules Winter Tea

SHARON – Greater New and Living Way Women’s Ministry will host the 3rd Annual Winter Tea at 11 a.m. Saturday at New and Living Way Temple, 840 Highland Road, Sharon.

The guest speaker will be Rev. Michele Askerneese, senior pastor at the Valley Church of God in Hermitage.

Tickets are $10 and $5 for children ages 5 to 12.

Bethel Life to hostNight to Shine

GREENVILLE – For the fourth year, Bethel Life will team up to host and co-sponsor another Night to Shine, along with more than 700 churches around the world.

The events will be held simultaneously on Feb. 8.

Night to Shine is a prom experience centered on God’s love for people with special needs ages 14 and older.

The guests will be welcomed at the church, 246 S. Mercer St., Greenville, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. for VIP treatment, including hair, nails and shoeshines.

Afterwards they will travel by limo to the Greenville Elementary School, 60 Fredonia Road, for food, fun and dancing.

The highlight of the night is when all guests are honored as they are crowned kings and queens of the prom.

Dresses and suits are available for 20 percent off at Twice Blessed Thrift Shop, Mercer.

Men’s attire is also available at Bethel Life.
