HERMITAGE – Buhl Park is hosting another series of craft nights for kids ages 9 to 12.
Each month, the park will provide everything needed for a kid-friendly, nature craft.
Park staff will assist the children in making a tree cookie heart on Tuesday, a terrarium on March 13, May Day baskets on April 30 and a fairy garden on May 21. All programs are hosted in the Activities Building, from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
May Day baskets are a forgotten tradition that would mark the beginning of spring. In the 19th and 20th centuries, children would hang small hand-made baskets and bouquets of flowers on the front doors of friends and family on May 1. On April 30, children will have the opportunity to make two May Day baskets, one which will be delivered to a local nursing home and one for them to give to a friend or family member.
Registration is required, and children can be registered for any program they wish. Fees range from $7 to $10, which cover all supplies.
