Take a break from cooking dinner, aid VFD
Volant Volunteer Fire Department will offer a choice of fish or beef stew for dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. July 26 at the fire hall.
Dinner includes macaroni and cheese, vegetable, salad, dessert and beverage, for a donation of $8 per adult and $4 per child aged 12 and under.
All proceeds will benefit the fire department.

Support local family at benefit dance July 28
The Grove City High School wrestling boosters will host a benefit dance for Tom Tomeo, who is recovering from a ruptured esophagus and collapsed lung and has no insurance, and Phyllis Lewis, who lost her home and possessions in a fire on Dec. 30. The dance will take place from 7 to 11 p.m. July 28 at the Grove City Masonic Hall.
The event will feature the band “Pipe Dreams.”
A donation of $10 per person is requested.
The dance is BYOB and ice, mix and snacks will be provided.

Join local civic group for summer picnic dinner
Findley Township Civic League will host a summer picnic at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 11 at Mercer County Grange fairgrounds.
All political candidates and elected officials are invited.
Hamburgers and sweet corn will be provided. Please bring your own table service and a dish or two to share.
