Barkeyville Church of God, located on Route 8 in Barkeyville, will hold a pasta dinner and bake sale to benefit Gary Schermerhorn, who has been diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor.
The dinner is from 3 to 7 p.m. April 26 at the church. Cost is $5, and take-out meals will be available. There will be musical entertainment upstairs in the church; if you play an instrument, bring it along.
Donations may also be sent to: Barkeyville Church of God, 5433 Pittsburgh Road, Harrisville, PA 16038, with a notation that the donation is for Gary Schermerhorn.
Join in Day of Caring clean-up of Wolf Creek
The Wolf Creek Watershed Association will take part in cleaning up Wolf Creek as part of Grove City Area United Way’s Day of Caring, April 26.
A section of the creek from just south of Grove City College to Hunter Farm and the soccer fields is one site for clean-up.

Help restore natural habitats at Jennings
Jennings Environmental Education Center seeks individuals and groups willing to spend a spring day helping to manage invasive, non-native plants at the park, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 26.
Participants must be age 12 or older. As a thank-you, each will receive an invasive plant cookbook and work gloves. Lunch will be provided.
Registration is needed by April 18. Call the center at 724-794-6011.
Discover various ways to volunteer at Moraine
Explore the possibilities for volunteer service at McConnell’s Mill and Moraine State parks during a volunteer orientation and appreciation day, starting at 11 a.m. April 26.
Meet at the DCNR Region 2 Parks & Forestry office at 11. Following lunch, there will be tours of the No. 19 oil well site and the historic grist mill and recently-replaced turbine at McConnell’s Mill.
