Little League Baseball: Grove City All-Stars announced

GROVE CITY — The Grove City Little League All-Stars have been announced.

Following are the members of the teams in each division:

MINOR DIVISION (10-YEAR-OLD ALL-STARS) - Trey Adams, Noah Burke, Martin Beatty, Jordon Hodge, Brayden Large, Daniel Lucas, Logan Lutz, Brayden Martin, Logan Minch, Andrew Montgomery and Connor Thorne.

MAJOR DIVISION (11-YEAR-OLD ALL-STARS) - Jeffrey Biddle, Kaiser Cline, Nick Davies, David Dodds, Colton Eccles, Ryan Fagan, Benjamin McKnight, Justin Orlowski, Kameron Patterson, Cordell Sanders, Tyler Simmons and Dalee Smith.

MAJOR DIVISION (12-YEAR-OLD ALL-STARS) - Jordon Anderson, Ryan Budnik, Brandon Dennis, Tanner Glenn, Brandon Grace, Tucker McBride, Brendan Record, Devin Reynolds, Brett Snyder, Seth Uber and Austin Wilson.

JUNIOR DIVISION - Jacob Cline, Marcus DePeal, Matt Gordon, Jesse Hodge, Doug Horner, Mickey Kisamore, Dustin Maine, Dylan Osborne, Ryan Palmer, Jared Sample and Justin Thompson.

SENIOR DIVISION - Jon Anderson, Ian Brown, Tyler Devine, Joshua Doody, Adam Geibel, Ryan Grace, Gavin Herald, Collin Lawson, Ben Lucas, Brian Murone, Chauncey Miller, Jordan Orlowski, Jordan Patterson, Mackenzie Patterson, Torin Smith and Tony Turner.

  • On to baseball GC coach Bell retired — sort of!

    You can take the man out of coaching, but you can’t take coaching out of the man.
    Former Grove City High football coach Jeff Bell has spent his first few months of retirement hearing the ping of a baseball ricocheting off an aluminum bat instead of clap of shoulder pads coming together.
    “My grandson Maddox (Bell) and a few of his friends play on a traveling team, so I’m helping out with that,” said Bell, who retired as the Eagles’ football coach this past winter. “They’re a good group of kids to work with and this is a lot more enjoyable. It’s a lot less stress.

  • RANDOM THOUGHTS: Pouncey latest Steeler to make court news

    HERE I THOUGHT, we were going to make it through an offseason without a Pittsburgh Steeler getting in trouble for something stupid.
    Thanks Maurkice Pouncey for allowing that to not happen.

    WHILE BASEBALL fans are focused on tomorrow’s 4 p.m. EDT non-waiver trade deadline, there is an issue that is even more pressing for the Pirates: re-signing catcher Russell Martin, eligible for free agency after the 2014 season.
