MERCER — Creative Learning Christian School announces its grand opening at 550 Grant St., Mercer.

The school was founded by a group of parents who desired a more progressive educational program that values children as unique individuals and allows them to learn in different ways and progress at their own pace.

"Students learn through hands-on experiences, investigation, and interacting with their environment," said Jillian Morgan, principal.

"They utilize an integrated curriculum with thematic units to help students to see the relationship between ideas and gain a deeper understanding and mastery of core concepts."

Creative Learning Christian School is now enrolling preschool through 12th grade students for the 2012-2013 school year.

The 6th-12th grade curriculum will be augmented by online courses that not only meet national education standards, but present material from the Christian worldview.

These courses are open to anyone in the community, including homeschooling students.
