MASURY — Obituary was published April 28, 2010.

Service is Friday for Evelyn F. King of 7637 Catherine St., Masury. She went home to be with her Lord at 9:15 p.m. Friday, April 23, 2010, in O'Brien Memorial Nursing Home, Masury, after an extended illness. She was 96.

Mrs. King was born May 26, 1913, in Coolspring Township, a daughter to Clyde I. and Mary Rosella Huey Barner.

She worked as a manager for Jo-Ann Fabrics, Alliance, Ohio, for more than 25 years before retiring.

Evelyn was a 65-year member of Coitsville Presbyterian Church; a 20-year former member of Covenant Presbyterian Church, Sharon; and a 25-year former attendee of Bunker Hill United Methodist Church in Alliance.

Her memberships also included past president of the former Lioness Club, Sharon; and Endeavor Rebekah Lodge 367, Sharpsville.

In her spare time, she enjoyed square dancing, ballroom dancing, crocheting and playing football with her grandchildren.

Survivors include: her daughter, Rosella A. Somlitz, with whom she made her home; her son, Dennis King Sr. and his wife Sue, Brecksville, Ohio; her six grandchildren, Michelle Somlitz; Kevin Somlitz and his wife Michele; Eric Somlitz his fiance Christina Kovach; Diane Bock and her husband John; Christine King and her companion Pete Sinkowitz; and Dennis King Jr. and his wife Cherie; her six great-grandchildren, Shane Fulton and his wife Jamie, Lance Fulton, Kayla Somlitz, Bryan Bock, Lucas King and April King; and her great-great-grandson, Nicholas Fulton.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur King, who died in 1954; her parents; her granddaughter, Susan Wright-Fulton; her brothers, Charles and Morris Barner; and her sisters, Emma Gill, Alma Moose and Mary Elizabeth Wardman.

Evelyn's family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the staff at O'Brien's for the love and compassion displayed in her care during her illness.

Calling hours are 11 a.m. to time of service Friday (4-30-10) in Brookfield United Methodist Church, 6951 Grove St. SE, Brookfield.

Funeral service at 1 p.m. Friday in the church with the Rev. William Johnson, pastor, officiating.

Interment in Brookfield Township Cemetery.
