David L. Braham, of Woodland Place, 745 Greenville Road, Coolspring Township, formerly of 5 Davis Lane, Mercer, passed away at 12:15 a.m. Sunday (7-13-08) in his home. He was 96.
A son of William P. and Mina King Braham, he was born Jan, 9, 1912, in Harrisville.
On Aug. 22, 1936, he married the former Sara Elizabeth Buchanan. She passed away March 28, 2002.
Mr. Braham retired from McCandless Ford, Mercer, and had owned and operated service stations in Harrisville and Slippery Rock.
He was a veteran of the Army, serving during World War II.
He was an avid golfer and bowler, having been a member for many years of Shamrock Golf Course and various bowling leagues in Slippery Rock.
Mr. Braham was a former member of Harmony Presbyterian Church, Harrisville.
He is survived by three daughters, Myrna Lee Vallely, Jackson Center; Judy A. Roxberry and her husband Tom, Linesville; and Charlene McCandless and her husband Bill, New Wilmington; a daughter-in-law, Susie Braham, Harrisville; and 14 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Braham was preceded in death by a son, David William Braham; three brothers, Francis, Carl and Charles; and three sisters, Edna, Eleanor and Ruth.
Calling hours were Wednesday (7-16-08) in Cunningham Funeral Home Inc., 144 S. Pitt St., Mercer.
Funeral service was Wednesday in the funeral home with the Rev. Russell Hines, pastor of Norrisville United Methodist Church, officiating.
Interment in Prairie Cemetery, Harrisville.
