Charles B. Muha, 382 Sieg Hill Road, Shenango Township, died at 12:50 p.m. Thursday, July 3, 2008, in UPMC Horizon, Farrell. He was 85.
He was born Sunday, Feb. 11, 1923, in Morgantown, W.Va., to the late Charles and Anna Yendrek Muha.
Mr. Muha was a graduate of Morgantown High School and West Virginia University; and as a Naval air cadet he attended universities in Atlanta; Columbia, S.C.; and Pensacola, Fla.
He served as a pilot in the Navy during World War II.
Mr. Muha was employed as a structural engineer at Sharon Metal Products and was owner of Chuck’s Christmas Trees in West Middlesex.
He was a member of St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church, Hermitage, and a member of the former Holy Name Society.
Mr. Muha was a member of Greek Catholic Union Lodge, patriotic member of the John Birch Society, and past president of the Parent-Teacher Association of West Middlesex schools.
He was an avid organic gardener who enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking and spending time with his family. He was also a carpenter and built his own home in Sharon.
Mr. Muha is survived by his wife, Rosemary Bucklew Muha, at home; five daughters, Rebecca A. Muha, Masury; Karen R., wife of Michael Heinz, Voorhees, N.J.; Jennifer M. Jackson, Colorado Springs, Colo.; Deborah L. Muha, Delray Beach, Fla.; and Shelley D. Muha, Las Vegas; two sons, Daniel C. Muha, Hermitage; and Kevin R. Muha and his wife Jackie, Gaithersburg, Md.; three brothers, George Muha and his wife Jane, Mercer; Fred Muha and his wife Glenna. Baltimore; and Robert Muha and his wife Noreen, Rock Hill, S.C.; and five grandchildren, Brent Muha, Alec Muha, Eric Muha, Jordon Markovich and Emily Heinz.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Paul Muha.
Calling hours were Sunday (7-6-08) in Stephen J. Sherman Funeral Home, Hermitage, with Rosary and Parastas services.
Divine Liturgy was Monday (7-7-08) in St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church, Hermitage, with the Rev. Frank Firko, pastor, officiating. Panachita service was that evening in the funeral home.
Interment in St. Michael Cemetery, Hermitage.
