Harrisville retiree enjoyed woodworking, fishing

PINE — W. John McFadden, County Line Road, Harrisville, died at 8:55 a.m. Monday, Nov. 26, 2012 in Grove City Medical Center, Pine Township. He was 84.

Mr. McFadden was born July 23, 1928 in Pine to Charles W. and Alma L. Stillwagon McFadden.

He retired in 1985 from Brown Boiler, Franklin; previously, he was employed by Van Port Stone, Edenburg.

Mr. McFadden was a Protestant.

He enjoyed woodworking, fishing and spending time with his family.

He married the former Ramona M. Thompson on Sept. 28, 1948. She survives.

Also surviving are: two sons, W.M. 'Marty' McFadden, Harrisville; and Michael John McFaddden, husband of Laura, Harrisville; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a great-great grandson; a sister, Genevieve Hubenthal, Harrisville; and 23 foster children raised by he and his wife.

Mr. McFadden was preceded in death by his parents; five sisters; and three brothers.

Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today (11-28-12) in Jamison Funeral Home, 117 N. Main St., Harrisville.

Funeral service at 11 a.m. Thursday (11-29-12) in the funeral home, with the Rev. Karl A Hubenthal, nephew of the deceased, officiating.
