SANDY LAKE — Thomasine E. "Tomi" Garner, of 9 Griffin Road, Sandy Lake Township, passed away at 9:55 a.m. Sunday (11-18-12) at home with her family by her side after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 59.

Born Dec. 29, 1952 in Grove City, she was a daughter of Robert J. and Hildur L. Swanson Davis.

She was a 1971 graduate of St.. Cloud (Florida) High School.

Tomi had worked at the former Country Corral of Sandy Lake and also for Allegheny Valley School of Slippery Rock as an aide. 

Most of all, she was a homemaker and enjoyed taking care of her family. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

She was Catholic.

Tomi loved animals and enjoyed riding horses.

He husband, Bruce A. Garner, whom she married Jan. 10, 1974, survives at home. Also surviving are a daughter, Vania A. Ehrman, Stoneboro; a son, Jared A. Garner, Greenville; a granddaughter, Alexandra Ehrman, Stoneboro; a sister, Roberta Mills and her husband Tom; and a brother, William C. Davis and his wife Sharon, all Stoneboro.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Calling hours were Nov. 20, 2012, in Scott A. Black Funeral Home, Stoneboro.

Funeral and committal service were Nov. 21, 2012, in the funeral home with Beth A. Creekpaum, pastor, Sandy Lake Presbyterian Church, officiating. Interment in Oak Hill Cemetery, Sandy Lake Township.
