Robert D. Dickson, of Grove City, Pine Township, for 30 years, passed away at 9:26 p.m. Saturday, November 23, 2013, in his home after a three-year illness. He was 72.
Mr. Dickson was born Jan. 29, 1941 in Grove City, a son of Earl Eugene and Frances Jean Styers Dickson.
Bob graduated from Beaver High School, class of 1959. He served in the U.S. Army following high school, and attended Geneva College.
He then went to work for Norfolk Southern Railroad and retired after 43 years of employment.
Bob was of the Presbyterian faith, and a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles aerie 1895, Grove City. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Bob married Sandra Boyd, who survives at home, Sept. 29, 2001.
He is also survived by: a daughter, Lisa Dickson, New Castle; four sons, Robert Dickson Jr., and his wife Evonne; Shawn Dickson, all of Pittsburgh; Brenton Billig and his wife Jonnie, Transfer, Nicholas Billig and his wife Barbie, Wasilla, Alaska; 11 grandchildren; and a sister, Phyllis Nichols, Augusta, Maine.
Mr. Dickson was preceded in death by his parents; and a son, Dean A. Dickson, who passed away Oct. 19, 2013.
