BUTLER — Richard L. Collar, Butler, formerly of Grove City, died at noon Sunday (9-1-13) in Butler Memorial Hospital, following an extended illness. He was 67.

Dick was born May 10, 1946, to John 'Jack' and Helen J. Cook Collar.

He married Annamarie Codispot on Sept. 14, 1992. She survives.

Dick spent 13 years in the U.S. Army and served two tours of duty during the Vietnam War.

He retired from the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections, where he was a sergeant.

He was a Catholic.

In addition to his wife at home, he is survived by: two children, Tanna Kay and her husband Rodney, Indianapolis; and Jeremy Hogue and his wife Megan, Grove City; two grandchildren, Trenton and Teaghan; and two sisters, Shirley A. Wilson and her husband, Eugene, and Kate Thompson and her husband Richard, all Grove City.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, John L. 'Louie' Collar.

Calling hours: 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday (9-5-13) in CUNNINGHAM FUNERAL HOME Inc., 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City.

Service: Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday (9-6-13) in the funeral home with the Rev. Michael Allison, pastor of Church of the Beloved Disciple, Pine Township, officiating.

Burial: St. Michael's Cemetery, Butler.
