PINE — Betty E. Wood of Grove City, formerly of Eau Claire, Butler County, passed away Monday afternoon, Oct. 1, 2012, in Orchard Manor Nursing and Personal Care Residence in Pine Township, after an extended illness. She was 91.

Born in Mosgrove, Armstrong County, on July 23, 1921, Mrs. Wood was a daughter of N. Cal Hamilton and Blanche E. Beers Hamilton.

She was employed for 10 years in the maintenance department at the former Washington Elementary School of Moniteau School District.

Betty was a member of the former Church of the Nazarene in St. Petersburg, Clarion County.

Her husband, George W. Wood, whom she married March 5, 1948, preceded her in death Oct. 8, 2002.

She is survived by: a daughter, Elaine and her husband Nicholas Kolbrick, Mercer; a son, Frederick G. Wood, Saxonburg; four grandchildren and two great-granddaughters; and a brother, Walter Hamilton, Jacksonville, Fla.; as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters and two brothers.

Calling hours were Thursday (10-4-12) in H. Jack Buzard Funeral Home, Eau Claire.

Funeral service was Thursday in the funeral home, with Pastor Lester Rowan of  Wayside Community Church, Findley Township, officiating.

Interment in Eau Claire Cemetery.
