GROVE CITY — On Sunday, May 26, 2013, Betty Ada Nicholas Tyson, 91, of Grove City, formerly of Pitcairn, passed away surrounded by her family.

Betty was born in Tylersville, Clinton County.

She was a daughter of the late Titus Lee and Annie Frantz Nicholas; wife of the late John Jacob Tyson; dear mother of Dr. John Rodger (Jill) Tyson of Houghton, N.Y., and Heather Ann (Alan) Hough of Grove City; grandmother of Loralee, Joe, Randal and Jessie Tyson; and sister of the late Hattie Miller, Fannie Stover, Verius Nicholas and James Nicholas.

Betty worked as a secretary for Mr. Piper of Piper Aircraft, Lock Haven, Pa., and in civil service positions in Harrisburg during World War II.

She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star Corinth Chapter 229 and Center Avenue United Methodist Church, Pitcairn.

Funeral: 8 p.m. Wednesday (5-29-13) in Pearce Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Cyndi Bloise officiating, and at 10 a.m. Friday (31-13) in Urbine Funeral Home.
