Engineer was GC Country Club member, lived to 104

BLUFFTON, S.C. — John Black Schreiner, of Beaufort, S.C., formerly of Pittsburgh and Grove City, died Saturday, June 1, 2013, at a skilled nursing center with NHC HealthCare, Bluffton, S.C. He was 104.

Mr. Schreiner was born in Pittsburgh to the late Edward and Ruth Foster Schreiner.

John lived most of his in Pittsburgh and then in Grove City.

He attended the University of Pittsburgh.

John was as engineer with Bell Telephone Company of Pennsylvania.

He was a former member of Grove City Country Club.

John married the former Jean Tindall in 1935. She preceded him in death.

Surviving are: a daughter, Nancy Schreiner Corbett, wife of Dr. John M. Corbett, Aiken, S.C.; two grandchildren, Susan Corbett Hammar, in Ohio; and John Foster Corbett, in South Carolina; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandson.

Besides his wife and parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Mary Louise Schreiner Botts.

Copeland Funeral Service assisted the family with arrangements.
