PINE — Laura Gail Fowkes, formerly of Butler and Garden Avenue, Grove City, died at 10 p.m. Wednesday (6-5-13) in Grove City Medical Center. She was 91.

She was born Oct. 14, 1921, in Wildwood, N.J., to Benjamin F. and Helen W. Thompson Hester.

She married Zale Delp Fowkes on Dec. 19, 1939. He passed away June 29, 1991.

She was a homemaker and a Protestant.

"Gail" enjoyed being active with the Grove City Senior Center. 

She liked traveling and being with friends.

She is survived by a daughter, Vivian Taiclet and husband William, Fort Myers, Fla.; a brother, George Hester of Florida; four grandchildren, Shelia A. Fowkes Nuth and husband Dan, Poland, Ohio, Tina Morgan, Dayna Musser and Dan Taiclet, all of Florida and 7 great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Samuel and Franklin Fowkes; a daughter, Donna Johnston (2011) and a brother, James Hester.

Calling hours: 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Monday (6-10-13) in CUNNINGHAM FUNERAL HOME Inc., 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City.

Service: Funeral services will be 4:30 p.m. Monday (6-10-13) in the funeral home with the Rev. Stephanie Thompson, chaplain of Orchard Manor, officiating.

Burial: Leatherwood Cemetery, New Bethlehem, Pa.
