Melvin E. Hunt of Jackson Street, Grove City, passed away at 8:23 a.m. Thursday, May 30, 2013, in Grove City Medical Center, Pine Township, after an 11-year illness. He was 76.
Mr. Hunt was born Aug. 11, 1936, in Worth Township, Butler County, to Merle E. and Lois Ella Studebaker Hunt.
He grew up and lived in the Slippery Rock area, where he attended schools before moving to Grove City.
Mr. Hunt was a millwright and retired from Kennedy Tubular Co., New Castle.
He was of the Protestant faith and was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1895, Grove City.
His spouse, Patricia Nicklin, survives at home.
He also leaves six children, Diane Smith, Lakeland, Fla.; Donald Hunt and his wife Kim, Slippery Rock; Lynn Heichel and her husband Dr. David Heichel, Marquette, Mich.; and Robert Hunt, John Nicklin and Jim Nicklin, all Grove City; 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Donna Cooper, Slippery Rock; and Patricia Dean and her husband Charles, Portersville.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Naomi Wolff and an infant sister.

Service: Funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Monday (6-3-13) in the funeral home with the Rev. Willard S. Morse, visitation pastor of Grace United Methodist Church, Grove City, officiating.
Interment: South Plain Grove (Township) Cemetery, Lawrence County.
