IOWA CITY, Iowa —
M. Maxine Myers, a resident since August 2010 of Iowa City, formerly of Millbrook Road, Worth Township, passed away at 11 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, 2013, in Briarwood Health Care Center, Iowa City, after a 33-year illness with Parkinson's disease. She was 79.
Mrs. Myers was born Sept. 5, 1933, in Irwin Township, Mercer County, to Glenn C. Riddle and Mildred J. Hoffman Riddle.
She was a graduate of the former Wesley High School, class of 1951.
Mrs. Myers retired from the former United Community Hospital, Grove City, as a licensed practical nurse where she was a nurse for 27 years, starting her career at the former Bashline Hospital, Grove City.
Mrs. Myers was a member of the Ole Bashline Alumni Group.
Her husband, Earl F. Myers, whom she married Nov. 23, 1954, passed away Aug. 20, 1996.
Surviving are: three children, Thomas L. Myers and his wife Pam, Stoneboro; Jeffery L. Myers and his wife Susan, Hilliards, Pa.; and Linda S. Myers, Iowa City; four grandchildren, three stepgrandchildren, four great-granddaughters, a great-grandson, two stepgreat-grandsons; and two sisters, Bernice Badger and her husband R. Kenneth; and Judy McFadden and her husband Dale, all Mercer.
Besides her husband, Mrs. Myers was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Joyce Riddle and Geraldine Monteleone.

Calling hours: Were 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday (3-24-13) and 10 a.m. to time of service Monday (3-25-13) in CUNNINGHAM FUNERAL HOME Inc., 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City.
Service: Funeral service was 11 a.m. Monday in the funeral home with the Rev. G. Kenton Shaw, retired pastor, officiating.
Interment: Crestview Memorial Park Inc., Grove City.
