Thomas H. Forrest, formerly of West Main Street, Grove City, passed away after a three-month illness at 7:51 a.m. Monday, March 18, 2013, in Grove City Medical Center, Pine Township. For the past six years, he resided in Orchard Manor, Pine Township, well cared for by the home's staff. He was 82.
Mr. Forrest was born June 2, 1930, in Harrisville to Murtagh "Murt" Leon Forrest and Margaret Elizabeth Bailey Forrest.
He retired in 1993 from Cooper Energy Services, Grove City, where he was an assembler for 38 years. Mr. Forrest also worked locally for many years in the roofing business.
He was of the Protestant faith.
As an Army veteran, Mr. Forrest served in the Korean conflict. Following his overseas military tour, he enlisted in the Pennsylvania National Guard, serving for six years. He was a member of American Legion Post 852, Harrisville; and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 519, Grove City, both of which he was a past commander.
Thomas was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
His wife, the former Dorothy A. Young Eaton, whom he married Aug. 30, 1968, passed away Sept. 7, 2005.
Surviving are four children, Susan Ifft and her husband John T. "Tom" Ifft, Mercer; Thomas E. Forrest and his wife Amy, Slippery Rock; Donna McFeaters and her husband Richard, Jackson Center; and Tammi Barkley and her husband Robert, New Castle; and eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Carl Felix; three brothers, William, Neil and Jack Forrest; and a sister, Vera McGarvey.
Memorial contributions may be made in Tom's memory to any charity that supports veterans.

Calling hours: Were 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday (3-20-13) in CUNNINGHAM FUNERAL HOME Inc., 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City.
Service: Funeral service was 11 a.m. Thursday (3-21-13) in the funeral home with the Pastor Jerry Carter of Slippery Rock Baptist Church officiating.
Interment: With military honors in Prairie Cemetery, Harrisville.
