HS teacher had second career, awards in sales

KANSAS — Eleanor "Ann" Miller, Overland Park, Kan., passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014 at home, with family. She was 92.

Ms. Miller was born Jan. 22, 1922 to Dr. P.W. and Helen Allen.

She grew up in Grove City and graduated from Grove City High School, then went on to receive her B.A. from Grove City College.

Ann started her professional career as a Spanish and French teacher in high school. She retired from General Electric, where she received several awards for her work in inside sales.

She loved music, dancing, movies and theatre. Ann was a proud member of Happy Hoofers dance troupe. She was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling and visiting with friends and family.

Ann"s laughter and positive outlook will be missed by everyone who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her children: Kim Long, Baltimore, Md.; and Suzanne Clock, wife of Ed, Overland Park, Kansas; her grandchildren, Jennifer Nash, wife of Paul; Mike McNellis; and Patric McNellis, husband of Kim; and five great-grandchildren, Summer Grace; Claire Elizabeth; Jack Patric; Natalie Hope and Chase Lawrence.

In lieu of flowers, Ann requested before her death that donations be made to Planned Parenthood.  Assistance by Funeral Advocates, LLC.

Memorial service was held Monday, Feb. 10, 2014, in Overland Park, Kansas.
