Isabel McDeavitt of Orchard Manor, Grove City, died Saturday (12-28-2013) at Orchard Manor. She was 88.
Mrs. McDeavitt was born in Slippery Rock on June 29, 1925, to Garrett West and Evelyn Matthews West.
She was a special education teacher at Polk Center.
Isabel graduated from Slippery Rock High School, received her bachelor's from what is now Slippery Rock University, and did her post-graduate work at the University of Pittsburgh.
She married Burton McDeavitt on April, 4, 1947; he passed away in 1997.
Isabel was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Grove City.
She was a member of the Alumni Association of Slippery Rock University.
Isabel is survived by a son, Thomas McDeavitt, Desert Hot Springs, Calif.; and a brother, John G. West, Slippery Rock.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Timothy; and a sister, Esther Thompson.

Service: Funeral services at 1 p.m. today in the funeral home with the Rev. Willard S. Morse officiating.
Burial: Crestview Memorial Park, Pine Township.
