PINE — Funeral is today for Donald L. "Don" Johnson Jr., 204 E. Water St., Slippery Rock, formerly of Grove City. He died at 8:20 p.m. Tuesday (12-24-13) in Grove City Medical Center, Pine Township, after a brief illness. He was 59.

He was born Sept. 7, 1954, in New Castle to Donald L. Johnson and Harriet G. Synder Johnson. He graduated from Lakeview High School in 1972.

Mr. Johnson married Kathryn M. Bittner on Jan. 17, 2013.

He was employed in the autobody business and was a member of Victory Christian Center, New Wilmington.

He was a big fan of Grove City High School wrestling.

He enjoyed doing custodial work at Victory Christian Center and he helping others at Graystone Manor in Slippery Rock.

He is survived by his wife, Kathryn, at home; three children, Jill Scigliano and her husband, Joe, Dallas; Donald Lee "D.J" Johnson, Butler; and Paul M. Johnson, Grove City; two stepchildren, Tara Work and her husband Justin, and Leah Rinier, both Mount Lebanon, Pa.; four grandchildren; four sisters, Barbara L. Kocur and her husband, John, Vandergrift, Pa.; Carole A. Feil and her husband, Ross, New Castle; Martha J. Lenhart and her husband Robert, Auburn, Ind.; and Kathleen Safran and her husband Martin, Stoneboro; and two brothers, Harold R. "Butch" Johnson and his wife Beatrice, New Castle; and Ross Johnson and his wife Lynne, Grove City.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Linda L. Johnson; and his stepfather, John Lee Barnes.
