GROVE CITY — Esther J. Thompson, died Friday, Jan. 9, 2013 in Trinity Living Center, Grove City. She was 85.

Mrs. Thompson was born June 20, 1927 in Chicora to Harry and Carrie B. Campbell Black.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church, Slippery Rock.

Mrs. Thompson was married Sept. 10, 1958 to James R. Thompson, who preceded her in death on Dec. 6, 1997.

Surviving are: two daughters, Josephine B. Miller, wife of Frank M., Slippery Rock; and Mary A. Winkler, wife of Glenn R., Slippery Rock; five grandchildren, Frank Miller, husband of Misty; Robert Miller, husband of Julia; Brian Miller, husband of Destiny; Megan Winkler; and Ashley Pflugh, wife of Ryan; four great grandchildren; a sister, Viola Black, East Butler; and a brother, Bernard Black, Chicora.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters; and two brothers.

Funeral service was Saturday in the funeral home, with the Rev. Barbara J. Moore, of St. John's United Methodist Church, Slippery Rock, officiating.

Burial in Slippery Rock Cemetery.
