PINE — Barbara A. Northcott, College View Towers, Grove City, died at 2:45 a.m. Monday (3-25-13) in Grove City Medical Center, Pine Township, after a brief illness. She was 83.

She was born June 28, 1929, in Meadville, to Arthur L. and Helen M. O'Neil Gilmore.

On March 22, 1948, she married Paul A. Northcott. He preceded her in death on April 25, 1985.

She was a homemaker and previously worked in retail in the area. She formerly worked in the kitchen at College View Towers for 17 years.

She formerly attended First Church of God, Grove City.

She enjoyed playing cards, going to Silver Sneakers at the YMCA, spending time with her family and formerly camping and canoeing with her husband.

Survivors include: two daughters, Cheryl Focht and her husband Dean, Kittanning, Pa.; and Marta Uber and her husband John, Grove City; two sons, Alan Northcott and his wife Terry, Grove City; and Paul "Mark" Northcott and his wife Mary, Slippery Rock; a daughter-in-law, Betty Northcott, Grove City; 20 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; a sister, Elaine Holben, Cochranton; and a half brother, Robert Gilmore, Meadville.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; her stepfather who raised her, Harold Shutts; a son, Arne Northcott; and a sister, Jerry Pearson.

Calling hours: Were held 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday (3-27-13) in CUNNINGHAM FUNERAL HOME Inc., 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City.

Service: Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Thursday (3-28-13) in the funeral home.

Burial: Zion Cemetery, Worth Township.
