VENICE, Fla. —
Funeral service will be held Saturday, May 25, 2013 for Michael Lawrence, Alligator Park, Punta Gorda, Fla., formerly of Plain Grove Township, who died peacefully Sunday, March 17, 2013 in Venice, Fla. He was 81.
Mr. Lawrence was born July 8, 1931, in New Bedford to Michael and Anna Gulas-Lawrence.
He graduated from Union (Township) High School near New Castle.
He was employed by Etna Standard, Ellwood City, and was a full-time farmer in Plain Grove Township.
Mr. Lawrence attended Grove City Missionary Alliance Church and Punta Gorda Missionary Alliance Church.
He enjoyed farming, hunting, fishing and square dancing and polka dancing.
Mr. Lawrence married the former Carolyn Ann Bartlett, Ellwood City, on Sept. 1, 1951. She preceded him in death on May 22, 2011.
Surviving are: two daughters, Deborah Kay Warner, wife of John, Grove City; and Cynthia Ann Lawrence, Sarasota, Fla.; a son, Michael Daniel Lawrence, husband of Betty Ann; two brothers, Pete Lawrence, husband of Helen; and George Lawrence, husband of Joanne; four grandchildren, Ian Warner, Brandy Lawrence, Israel Lawrence and Christopher Lawrence; six great-grandchildren; and 20 nieces and nephews.
Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; and five brothers, Albert, Samuel, Joseph, Paul and Edward.
Funeral service is 11 a.m. Saturday, May 25, 2013, in Church of the Epiphany Episcopal, Pine Township, with the Rev. Geoffrey Wild, officiating. Flowers may be sent through Kocher's in Grove City by calling 724-458-6210.
Interment in Cochranton Cemetery, Crawford County.
