Mountaineers, Steelers fan enjoyed cooking, golf

CABOT, Pa. — Mary E. "Liz" Guzzie, a resident since June 2012 of 829 Kocher Drive, Grove City, formerly of Valencia, Pa., passed away at 10:20 p.m. Sunday, May 19, 2013, in Good Samaritan Hospice at Concordia, Cabot, after a lengthy illness from breast cancer. She was 62.

Mrs. Guzzie was born Aug. 12, 1950, in Jeannette, Pa., to Charles and Susan Stash Dedo.

She was employed by American Eagle Corp., Cranberry Township, Butler County.

She was of the Catholic faith.

Liz and her husband August "Auggie" A. Guzzie Jr., whom she married March 12, 1983, enjoyed tailgating at West Virginia Mountaineers games. Together they were both avid Mountaineers and Steelers fans. He passed away Feb. 22 of this year.

Liz enjoyed cooking and golfing.

Surviving are: a daughter, Melissa G. Chutz and her husband Ben, Grove City; a son, Kevin Kopninsky, Uniontown, Pa.; a stepdaughter, Tina Clark and her husband Mark, Kittanning, Pa.; a sister, Carolyn Neel and her husband Robert, Irwin, Pa.; and a brother, Charles Dedo and his wife Jeanne, Wheeling, W.Va.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Charlene Randolph.
