■ 7 p.m. Oct. 21 -- members of the Committee to Preserve the History of the Grove City Highland Band will share their history that spans the last 50 years of the "Pipe Band" which operated from 1948 to 1998. Through their efforts the story of this unique marching band that represented Grove City internationally has a permanent home in the Grove City Historical Society.

The Grove City Area Historical Society is at 111 College Ave. in the former Traveler's Hotel. Two floors of Grove City memories are complete with new displays and acquisitions. A new stair lift has been recently installed to make the second floor more accessible. Our volunteers are ready for everyone to visit as we share old time Grove City items, artwork, books and memories of our community's past.
