SLIPPERY ROCK —
The official tally of the votes for the Slippery Rock council race shows that the three candidates already listed on the ballot are the winners.
Democrats Kenneth Harris, Regina Greenwald and Bob Bowser came out on top, based on final figures from the Nov. 5 general election, Shari Brewer, director of the Butler County Bureau of Elections, said Friday.
Her office had to factor in the 271 write-in votes that were received for that race, which included 172 votes for Harris; 185 for Greenwald; and 159 for Bowser.
Mike DeVault and Bryan Whitby were known to be running write-in campaigns, but Brewer said that unless a write-in candidate is a winner, her office doesn’t release details via phone or email on whose names were written in on voters’ ballots.
Those results can be obtained in person by visiting the elections office, she said.
Harris is the borough’s current mayor, finishing his 12th year in that post; Bowser is finishing his third term on council; and Greenwald is active with the Slippery Rock Rotary and Slippery Rock in Bloom.
All three council seats are four-year terms.
