Parking art ahead

GROVE CITY — Two new sculptures to point out public parking areas were put up in Grove City on Thursday, including one along East Main Street, above, and the other on Pine Street. The East Main sculpture accentuates the nearby library with a tree of knowledge theme. The fish and lily pads sculpture across from the post office hooks into neighboring Wolf Creek. As noted in a story Wednesday, George Junior Republic students designed, welded and painted the steel pieces with help from their instructors, a resident artist, grants and donations, which was celebrated at an unveiling ceremony on Friday afternoon at the Guthrie Theater and Grove City Artworks downtown. There are now eight parking art pieces in Olde Town.
