Harrisville Community Day set for July 4

HARRISVILLE — Here is the schedule for Harrisville Community Day on Wednesday, July 4:

9:30 a.m. Volleyball put on by Jim Edwards

11 a.m. -- Parade starting at Harrisville Fire Hall

Noon -- Opening at the park

12:30 p.m. -- Dan Schall (Gospel)

1:30 p.m. -- Tractor parade put on by Russ Dunlap (in front of bandstand)

2 p.m. Synergy (Baton Routine)

2:30 p.m. Teeth (band)

3:30 p.m. Pet parade put on by Heather and Chad Krenn (In front of bandstand)

5 p.m. Bailey Downs (Classic Rock/Country Band)

6 p.m. Devin Knight(Magician)

7 p.m. Renegadez (Country/Classic Rock Band)

9:30 p.m. Fireworks (Zambelli)

All-day events:

Chinese auction -- drawing at 9 p.m.

Balloon sculptures (by Dragonfly Balloons)

Crafters and food vendors

Disc jockey

Bingo/dunking booth by: Boy Scout Troop 380


Forestville Methodist Church is having the spaghetti dinner from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. July 26.

    CDR Raymond Batz, MC, USN, wing surgeon, Second Marine Aircraft Wing (2d MAW) and 1988 graduate of Grove City Area High School and 1992 graduate of Grove City College, was surprised to find two other GCHS graduates -- Lt. Col. Bill 'Kelvin' Sauerland and Lt. Ian Uber -- among the officers of 2d MAW on the same base near Havelock, N.C., often at the same meeting.
