Benefit attracts hundreds, raises more than $15,000

Harrisville volunteers needed

CLINTONVILLE — The benefit for four-time cancer survivor Davada Hanna Rager and her son Nick, who is a two-time cancer survivor, was a big success.

There were 500-plus people at the March 10 event at the Clintonville Fire Hall and they raised over $15,000.

There was lots of food and prizes given away. Justin Henry from Clintonville won the 42-inch television.

Davada would like to "thank everyone for the overwhelming support from her heart" and "praying for everyone that participated in helping make the benefit a big success."

She wants to "thank her family for putting it all together."

Online donations may be made to Davada at and there is a benefit account set up at the Grove City Credit Union, 1600 S. Center St. Grove City 16127; call 724-458-7520.

Jayne Campbell and a group of people need help, to do a Boaz Field; they want to plant some vegetables in a garden for Feed My Sheep, for the elderly and families.

They need some garden spaces and some volunteers; so if you have some space in your yard or garden that you can spare and volunteer in any way for this wonderful project, please call Jayne Campbell at 724-735-4455.

The Community Day Committee met on March 13 and again, we only had three people; I want to thank Jayne Campbell to offer to help in any way.

Doug Kennedy will once again organize the parade and Carol Armstrong will do the pet parade.

Carol will need help with getting donations for the pet parade and she will be needing help on July 4 as well so if you can help, please call her at 724-735-9902.

She would appreciate the help and donations.

Our next meeting will be at 7 p.m April 17 at the borough building.

We still need volunteers for parking cars on July 4. Someone from the Community Day Committee will collect donations for the Chinese auction in the near future. If you have any questions please call me at 724-967-4440.
