3D target archery shoot set for June 30
COOLSPRING TOWNSHIP -- Archers and 3D target enthusiasts who have been yearning for a way to tune their bow skills are invited to Munnell Run Farm Foundation and Mercer County Conservation District for the second annual 3D Archery Shoot, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 30.
The cost is $10 a person and $5 a child (12 and under). The day will consist of a variety of activities from a fun shoot with 25 real-life 3D targets to a Top Shot for those with a competitive thirst.
Great food will be available, as well as vendors to display archery items, and trick and treats to enhance your hunting success. Door prizes will be awarded throughout the day. Info: 724-662-2242.
MCCC to administer LPN test this month
MERCER – Mercer County Career Center will administer the pre-entrance for individuals interested in enrolling in the practical nursing class scheduled to begin in January. The pre-entrance exam is required before a student can make application to the program. Test dates are scheduled for June 19, 20, 21, 26, 27, and 28. Prior registration is necessary and individual s are registered on a first-come, first serve basis.
Individuals meeting the pre-entrance criteria are eligible to apply for the 1500 hour, state approved Practical Nursing class. The class is offered over a twelve month perior and students successfully completing the program are eligible to make application for practical nursing licensure in Pennsylvania.
Classroom instruction on clinical experiences are offered concurrently as students are provided learning opportunities in hospitals, nursing homes, and other health care facilities.

Wildflower workshop set
MERCER – Munnell Run Farm holds a field workshop on identifying common wildflowers of Pennsylvania from 6 to 7:30 p.m. June 20 at Munnell Run Farm Pig Barn located at 753 Greenville Road.
The workshop gives participants hands on experience in using field guides to identify wildflowers.
This workshop will provide the participant the knowledge to start enjoying the abundant beauty and excitement of exploring the wildflower world.
The workshop will consist of two parts that include a short indoor introduction and an outdoor session to use the learned skills to identify wildflowers growing in the local area.
Techniques and tools required for identification will be provided.
A nominal fee of $5 for adults and children under 12 are free. All proceeds benefit future environmental education programs.
